10th Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award
The 10th Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award Exhibition
Médecins du Monde UK will be touring an exhibition of The 10th Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award around the UK in 2007.
This Photography Award was established as a tribute to four humanitarian workers who were murdered in the field: Flors Sirera, Luis Valtueña and Manuel Madrazo in Rwanda and Mercedes Navarro in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Luis Valtueña was a photographer by profession, which is why the Award bears his name.
Each year, this Award invites amateur and professional photographers around the world to capture the essence of humanitarian and solidarity values and actions in scenes that they have witnessed first-hand during the previous 12 months.
As well as 27 photographs in this exhibition, there will be an additional 16-photograph retrospective exhibition, showing winning images from the last decade during which the Award has been held every year.
