Mohsen Vaziri Moghadam est né le 26 mai 1924 à Téhéran. En 1946, il obtint un diplôme des Beaux Arts à l’Université de Téhéran et en 1958 le diplôme de l’Accademia di Belle Arti à Rome. Entre 1955 et 1964 il vécut et travailla à Rome. En 1964, il rentra en tant que professeur d’art à la faculté des Arts Décoratifs et des Beaux Arts de l’Université de Téhéran, poste qu’il occupa jusqu’en 1974. En 1985, il déménagea avec sa famille en Italie (Rome). Véritable artiste international, Mohsen Vaziri Moghadam expose régulièrement en Europe, en Asie et en Amérique. Récipiendaire de plusieurs prix de prestige, il est considéré comme le père de la peinture moderne iranienne.
Mahmoud Meraji est né à Téhéran en 1958. En 1976, Meraji créa son propre atelier où il commença – entre les leçons pour ses élèves – à expérimenter la peinture plus librement. Il débuta également sa quête d’une vision et d’un style qui refléteraient sa personnalité intérieure. Meraji exposa pour la première fois à Téhéran en 1982 et depuis, sa renommé prit rapidement de l’ampleur en Iran. Entre les expositions, Meraji continua à peindre une multitude de portraits et de natures mortes sur commande pour développer sa vision artistique personnelle. En 1997, il déménage avec sa famille à Toronto. Il exposa de nombreuses fois à Toronto et reçut plusieurs prix.
En tant que journaliste photo, reporter et caméraman, Pooyan Tabatabaie travailla pour des médias divers tels que Der Spiegel (Allemagne), la BBC (Royaume Uni), The Guardian (Royaume Uni), Der Stern (Allemagne), Shahrvand (Canada), Shargh Newspapaer (Iran) et Fars News (Iran). À échelle internationale, il fut mis en nomination et reçut plusieurs récompenses pour ses travaux y compris pour sa série la plus récente Hijab, alliant éléments orientaux et paysages occidentaux. Pooyan espère toucher la vie de ses spectateurs de la même manière qu’il avait été touché lui-même par ses sujets. Cette ambition trouve ses racines dans sa vision de la photographie: “Mon regard sur le monde passe à travers ma lentille et constitue une expérience libératrice qui m’aide à répertorier toute réalité et me permet de partager cette expérience avec les autres.”

Mohsen Vaziri Moghadam was born on May 26, 1924, in Tehran. In 1946, he received a Diploma of Fine Arts Academy from Tehran University and, in 1958, a Diploma of the Accademia di Belle Arti from Rome . Between 1955 and 1964 he lived and worked in Rome. In 1964 Mohsen Vaziri Moghadam returned to Tehran and worked until 1974 as a professor of Art at the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University. In 1985 he and his family moved from Iran to Rome, Italy. A true international artist, he exhibits regularly in Europe, Asia and America. He has received several prestigious awards highlighting the quality of his work. Mohsen Vaziri Moghadam is considered to be the father of modern Iranian painting.
Born in Tehran in 1958, Mahmoud Meraji has been exploring the universe of arts since his childhood. In 1976, Meraji formed his own studio where, between periods of teaching his students, he began to experiment more freely. He also began his search for a vision and style that would reflect his inner self and his feelings about the increasingly turbulent world around him. Meraji held his first solo exhibition in Tehran in 1982, and his reputation in Iran grew rapidly from this moment on. In 1997, he moved to Toronto with his family. He has had numerous exhibitions in Toronto and has also received several prizes for his art.
As a photojournalist, reporter, and cameraman, Pooyan Tabatabaie’s work has been featured in Spigel ( Germany ), BBC (UK), The Guardian ( UK ), Shahrvand ( Canada ), Shargh Newspaper ( Iran ), and Fars News (Iran ). He has received several international nominations and awards for his work including his latest series Hijab, where he combines Eastern elements with Western landscapes. In reflecting the true image of his subjects, his photographs aim to capture the essence of the person in a way that he hopes will impact the lives of the people who view them as much as the subjects that impacted him. This is deeply rooted in his view of photography: “Seeing the world through my lens is a liberating experience for me that helps me catalogue any reality and share my experiences with others.”
